Registration
The registration process is open year-round. You are welcome to tour the school, meet with the school principal and learn more about the many educational opportunities available at Risen Christ. Tuition and Financial Assistance
Tuition, or family share, at Risen Christ School is calculated on a sliding scale, based on a family’s ability to pay. For the 2012-2013 school year, the family share will range from $775 to $2,150 per student, with discounts for more than one student. There is no charge for the fourth or fifth student from a family. There is no difference between parishioner and non-parishioner tuition.

Open House and Tours
Open Houses for the 2013-2014 school year will be scheduledin March 2013. Click here for times. They are a good opportunity to learn more about the school, visit classrooms and meet some of the Risen Christ staff. FAQs
What are the hours of a school day at Risen Christ?
The school day begins at 9:55 a.m. and ends at 4:25 p.m.
Is there something available for children before and after school?
There currently is an extended day program run by Genesis Place from 7 a.m. to the beginning of the school day. Because of the late dismissal time, there is no after-school extended day. There is an additional fee for this program.
Is there busing available?
Yes, Minneapolis Public Schools provide busing to Risen Christ at no charge. The school district sets the transportation boundaries and more information on the exact boundary lines is available from the school office, 612-822-5329.
How old does my child need to be to begin kindergarten?
To enter kindergarten, a student must be five years old by September 1 of the current school year.
Can my child start at Risen Christ after kindergarten?
Yes, students are welcomed to the school from kindergarten through eighth grade. We will work with you to place your child in the proper learning program when you enroll.
What are class sizes?
There are no more than two sections per grade and the average class size is 18 students per classroom, with a maximum of 25 students per class. In addition, grades K-2 have paid educational assistants in the classroom to assist the teachers.
Is there a hot lunch program?
Risen Christ School offers hot lunch every school day. As a participant in the federal hot lunch program, the lunches must meet specific dietary guidelines and free and reduced price (40¢) lunches are available for any students who qualify. The full cost of a lunch during the 2012-2013 school year will be $2.35; milk is available for 25¢.
Do students were uniforms?
Risen Christ School requires students to wear uniforms, which helps students maintain an appearance that is conducive to learning. The specific requirements are different for grades K-2, 3-5 and middle school and are available at the school office. There are two metro area stores that sell school uniforms, although pants and shirts that meet the uniform guidelines are available at most stores that sell children’s clothes. School logo sweatshirts are also available for sale for $20 each from the school office.
Does a child need to be Catholic to attend Risen Christ?
The Catholic faith provides the foundation for Risen Christ School, but a student does not have to be Catholic to attend Risen Christ. Religion class is part of the curriculum of the school and prayer is integrated into the school day. The school also draws on the diversity of religious traditions represented at Risen Christ to give students an opportunity to learn more about how people of different faiths worship God and live out their religious beliefs.
