We Never Turn a Family Away:
Last school year, donors gave over $2.3 million toward Risen Christ’s general operations and tuition assistance program, ensuring that the life-changing Catholic education we provide remains accessible to all families. This school year, 90% of our 315 students are low-income, and 96% rely on some form of tuition aid.
Our Students Love to Learn and to Be Here:
Our students demonstrate 94% average daily attendance, which shows a true commitment by families and their students to be present and engaged with our school community on a regular basis. Not only does Risen Christ have exemplary daily attendance, we also retain 88% of families year-over-year. Comparatively, the number of students attending school regularly statewide in Minnesota is 74.5%, and 59.8% in the Minneapolis Public School District.
The Bilingual Advantage:
As Minnesota’s only Catholic dual immersion school, Risen Christ prepares students – 73% of whom are English Language Learners (ELLs) – to become bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English. Based on a growing body of research, it is clear that the path to achieve proficiency in English is through building proficiency in our students’ native Spanish. Research indicates dual immersion is the most effective in closing achievement gaps between native English speakers and ELLs. In addition, bilingual students become better at problem solving and critical thinking, providing greater employment opportunities later in their lives.

Risen Christ is boosting parent and family engagement by providing educational workshops and resources to enhance their sacred role as the first educator in the lives of their children. We connect families to resources within the school and throughout the local community, including social services, health providers, academic and cultural enrichment and more to help families feel secure, supported and create a sense of belonging.
The Path for Lifelong Success Starts Here:
Students graduate as Christian disciples, using their academic success and strong Catholic values to become effective future leaders. With a 100% high school graduation rate among over 120 alumni recently surveyed, over 66% of our graduates are accepted into Catholic high schools, including Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Cretin-Derham Hall, Cristo Rey, DeLaSalle, Holy Angels and Holy Family. Many become the first in their family to pursue a high school diploma and attend post-secondary programs.
