What does dual language mean?
Dual language immersion refers to learning all academic content in two languages. Our students develop the ability to speak, read and write in both English and Spanish.
Does my child need to know any Spanish to be considered for the program?
No, dual language immersion programs are based on there being a number of native speakers of each language in a classroom. Children speaking a third language (other than English or Spanish) are also welcome. They will have the added advantage of becoming multilingual.
Is busing available?
Yes, Minneapolis Public Schools provide busing at no charge. The school district sets the boundaries; the school office has details.
Is the school just for Catholics?
No. All families are welcome. All students participate in daily prayer and religious education.
Is there a hot lunch program?
Yes, breakfast and hot lunch are available every school day.
How do I know what it will cost?
There is a sliding scale for tuition, based on household income and family size. The business office can prepare an estimated tuition.
What are the school hours?
The school day for 2017/18 will be 9:55am – 4:25pm.
What grades are offered at Risen Christ?
Risen Christ School offers grades kindergarten through 8th Kindergarten is an all-day program. There currently is no pre-school at Risen Christ.
Do students wear uniforms?
Yes, children are required to wear a school uniform. A uniform guide provides the information on what uniform is expected at the different grade levels. Often, the uniform pieces can be purchased at any regular store.
